Delete Account - Foursquare GB Convention App

Account Deletion Request

We respect your right to control your personal data. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data from the Foursquare GB Convention App, you have two methods available:

In-App Deletion - Instant deletion directly from the app (fastest)
Email Request - For users who can't access the app or prefer email

⚠️ Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to:

Your profile and account information
Workshop registrations and attendance history
Saved preferences and settings
Any other data associated with your account

Timeline: Your account will be deleted within 30 days of your request.

ℹ️ What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we will permanently remove:

Your email address and name
Your profile information
Workshop registration records
Push notification tokens
Any other personal data associated with your account

Note: Some anonymised data may be retained for legal compliance or statistical purposes, but it will not be linked to you.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended - Instant)

Delete your account instantly from within the app:

Open the Foursquare GB Convention App
Go to Settings tab (bottom navigation)
Scroll down to the bottom of the page
Tap "Delete Account" (shown in red)
Read the warning about permanent deletion carefully
Confirm deletion twice for your security
Your account will be deleted immediately

✨ This is the fastest method if you can access the app and remember your login credentials.

Method 2: Email Request (Alternative)

Send a Deletion Request

Can't access the app? Send an email from your registered email address:

Best for users who: forgot their password, uninstalled the app, or prefer email communication

What Happens Next?

If Using In-App Deletion (Method 1):

Immediate deletion - Your account is deleted instantly
Automatic sign-out - You're logged out of the app
Data removed - All your data, workshop registrations, and push tokens are permanently deleted
No recovery - The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone

If Using Email Request (Method 2):

We receive your request - You'll get a confirmation email within 24 hours
Verification - We verify your identity to protect your account
Processing - Your account is scheduled for deletion
Deletion complete - Within 30 days, all your data is permanently deleted
Confirmation - You'll receive a final email confirming deletion

Changed Your Mind?

⚠️ Important:

In-App Deletion - Cannot be cancelled. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You'll need to create a new account.
Email Request - Can be cancelled if you contact us at office@foursquaregb.org before we process it

If you deleted your account and want to return, you'll need to:

Create a new account with the same or different email
Re-register for any workshops you were enrolled in
Set up your preferences again

Alternative Options

If you're considering deleting your account, here are some alternatives:

Disable notifications - Turn off push notifications in settings
Cancel workshop registrations - Remove yourself from specific events
Update your information - Change your name or email instead
Take a break - Simply don't use the app; your data remains secure
